Corine Hoekstra graduated from the Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2002 in civil law with a focus on international law. After her graduation she joined the family business and started working as a pension advisor. Corine has been working as a pension lawyer since 2006. As from August 1, 2015 she started working for Veugelers Advocatuur, one of the merging firms of BVZA. She was admitted to the Dutch bar on August 21, 2015 and appointed as partner as of 1 January 2023.
Corine has considerable experience in advising employers, pension funds, insurance companies, works councils and (former) participants in both civil and fiscal pension cases and adds value as a sparring partner for board members of pension funds and for HR and Finance professionals. In these cases, international aspects often play a role.
During a dispute this experience forms the ideal basis to support clients in a competent way. In the best interests of her clients, Corine looks for the most pragmatic solution. That doesn’t always have to be a legal procedure. She regularly solves disputes by negotiating or through a binding advisory procedure.
Corine Hoekstra has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):
Legal practice area: Employment Law
Secondary Legal practice area: Pensions and Employee Participation
Based on this registration, she is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Dutch Bar.
